I have several round ingots of aluminum bronze from when I was making fiddle coin stim toys, which are fairly heavy and a reasonable diameter to make into a small whorl; I have also in hand some 6mm ebonite rod. I am going to put a tapered hole in one of the ingots, clean it up and thin out a web to make it into a (flywheel-shaped) whorl, and put matching taper on a finished section of the rod, to make a drop or support spindle. If this goes well I'll put some photos of the process and result here put these on sale.
